Who is Mit?

Mit grew up on his father’s fishing boat. By age seven, he was salmon tendering in the Puget Sound, and by twelve, he was longlining for halibut in Southeast Alaska alongside his father. Through high school and college, summers meant fishing for salmon, halibut, black cod, and Pacific cod, whether in the Bering Sea or gill netting for sockeye in Bristol Bay and the Aleutians. He even sold fresh salmon from a red wagon at the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market. Fishing was not just a job—it was a way of life.

In 2012, Mit turned his years of experience into a career in wholesale seafood brokerage at Tatoosh Seafoods, his family’s company. When his father retired in 2020, Mit took the helm, keeping the family legacy alive. In 2023, his wife and partner, Olen, joined the team, helping bring their vision to the community.

That vision became Mit’s Fish Co.: a pop-up seafood truck delivering premium, wild-caught, sustainable seafood from Alaska and the North Pacific, at wholesale prices. By working directly with independent fishermen, we ensure they earn the best price for their catch and that you get the highest-quality frozen seafood available.

We believe in knowing where your food comes from and keeping a reliable supply on hand. Our products are flash-frozen and vacuum-sealed, available in 10- and 20-pound boxes of fillets and portions, ready to store in your freezer.

At Mit’s Fish Co., it is not just about seafood, it is about connection: to the fishermen, to the ocean, to our community and to the food on your plate.
